Four ex-Charter execs indicted for inflating revenue

Four former top executives of Charter Communications, the third-largest US cable television company, were charged with scheming to defraud investors by inflating the revenue and cash flow of the company.

> > David Barford, former CIO, and Kent Kalkwarf, former CFO, were charged with mail fraud, wire fraud and conspiracy to commit wire fraud for alleged schemes in 2000 and 2001.

David McCall, former senior vice president was charged with conspiracy to commit wire fraud, while another former senior vice president, James Smith was indicted of wire fraud and conspiracy.

If convicted, each defendant could face up to five years in prison and fines of up to $250,000 on each count.
