SEC Investigating Goodyear

The SEC is upgrading its informal inquiry to a formal investigation.

> > The investigation stems from Goodyear announcing that it would restate company results for the five years ending in 2002 and for the first and second quarters of 2003. As a result of the restatement, 36 lawsuits have been filed against Goodyear and some of its current and former directors and officers. Goodyear said it is cooperating fully with the SEC.
The tire maker is also expanding its own probe from its European operations to overseas.
