More CFOs Get Rich on Options

Stock options play a big role in the compensation gains of top finance executives.

> > A few examples of stock options offered to executives at Progressive Insurance, Anheuser-Busch and Guitar Center.
W. Thomas Forrester, VP and CFO at Progressive Insurance Company, earned $5.5 million, including a $944,000 bonus and nearly $1 million in restricted stock. The bulk of his earnings came from exercising stock options and then selling underlying shares.
W. Randolph Baker, VP and CFO at Anheuser-Busch, earned almost $3.6 million last year, including almost $2.26 million from exercising stock options.
Executive VP, CFO, and Secretary Bruce Ross from Guitar Center made nearly $1.1 million, more than half from exercising stock options.
