More Restricted Stock for More CEOsRestricted stock is playing a major role in CEO compensation.
> > Salary and stock options are playing much smaller roles in the compensation of chief executives. Overall, average pay for the chief executives declined 8%, to $9.1 million. However, in the nine industries where CEO pay declined more than 10%, the average value of stock-option awards plunged 46%; in the seven industries where pay rose more than 10%, option values declined only 5%.
