Struggling Firms Decide To Go Private - Not PublicThe cost of being a public company is high which has some small companies deciding to go private.
> > Fledging companies once wanted nothing more than to go public - to raise money by selling stock to the public. Now struggling small companies are trying to go private. Companies are trying to buy back all public stock held by investors which would then take them off the stock market.
Part of the reason is the cost to be a public company, especially with the new legal requirements preventing corporate scandals.
