SEC to Convene Sarbox 404 Roundtable

Smaller companies and foreign private issuers may get more time to comply with Section 404 of Sarbanes-Oxley, and a rare SEC roundtable will give all U.S. public companies the opportunity to speak their piece.

> > "The benefits of 404 reports are too important not to do it right," said William Donaldson, chairman of the SEC. Most companies face a July 15 deadline to comply with this section of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act; further, many of the smaller businesses have complained that they must shoulder a burden disproportionate to their size.
